Hi, I'm Kate.

I've been photographing weddings since 2013, and I honestly still think it's one of the coolest jobs in the world.

Most weekends you'll find me with a camera in one hand and a Monster Energy in the other, hanging out with awesome couples while documenting one of the biggest days of their lives. When I'm not photographing weddings, I'm usually at a concert, planning my next road trip, or hanging out with my husband Ben and our Golden Retriever, Tucker (who is fully convinced he's my assistant).

One thing I've learned over the years is that great wedding photos don't happen because you know how to pose.

They happen when you're relaxed enough to forget there's a camera around.

If you've ever thought, "We're so awkward in front of the camera," trust me...you're in good company.

Almost every couple tells me that.

It sounds ridiculous...

...until you spend a wedding day with me.

On any given wedding day, I might be fixing a veil, pinning a boutonnière, keeping family photos organized, making sure you grab a drink of water, reminding you to actually eat dinner, or helping keep the timeline from going completely off the rails.

I'll tell you where to stand, what to do with your hands, and when to completely ignore me and just enjoy the moment.

By the end of the night, I usually feel less like "the photographer" and more like someone who accidentally got invited to the wedding.

That's exactly how I like it.

The photos matter. Obviously.

But years from now, I don't just want you to remember how your wedding looked.

I want you to remember how it felt.

The butterflies before the ceremony.

The way your partner looked at you when they thought nobody was watching.

Your grandparents tearing up during the vows.

Your friends absolutely losing it on the dance floor.

The hugs.

The laughter.

The happy tears.

The quiet moments you didn't even realize were happening.

Those are the moments worth remembering.

A few things you should know before we meet...

• —There's about a 98% chance I'll have a Monster Energy in my hand.
• —Tucker is convinced he's part of the business, and honestly...he's not wrong.
• —I'll probably ask what your favorite curse word is. It breaks the ice way faster than asking how you met.
• —If you tell me you're awkward in front of the camera, I'll smile because I've heard that from almost every couple I've ever photographed.
• —I care a whole lot more about genuine laughs than perfect poses.
• —I'll absolutely hype you up when you're doing something adorable.
• —I'll make sure we get the classic family photos...then we'll go make the fun ones.
